Robots Maria J Cuesta Botjoy

Did you find a BotJoy? How to activate and use it?

Botjoy MariaJCuesta

What would you like to do that you did not dare to do yet?

#BotJoy are robots programmed to help. The world needs more Bots because for some reason (that frankly I don’t completely understand) they seem to help.

How to use it:

1. Activate your robot taking a picture of it with something you love or a selfie with it, or a pic of the bot in a special place and upload it to any social network with hashtag #botjoy and tag @botjoy and @mariajcuesta

Send me an email with the pic to mjcuesta@Outlook.com  subject ROBOT ACTIVATION.

2. Let your bot know you better by letting him being with you in your room, in your window, in your pocket or wherever you are.

3. Listen carefully when you need him. Your robot will use his special power to give you some courage to face the things you didn’t dare.

4. Take your bot wherever you go to get some Help whenever you need it and wherever you are.

You will be able to follow in my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts where I leave the bots. As I frequently travel around Spain, it could be Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Badajoz, Valladolid, Salamanca, Bilbao… potentially anywhere 🙂

Also if you think you know of somebody that could benefit from a robot in Spain (hospital, kids with special needs associations, etc.) please let me know and let’s find a way to get them some bots.  🙂

I learnt about BotJoy last summer by following WDS online. And I inmediately fell in love with them.

Joy Bots are little pieces of art painted on dominos, “programmed” to bring you joy, courage, confidence, help and more.

Luckily, Gary Hirsch, the creator of this amazing idea, provided details on how to make your own and even to “Steal his idea”!!

So I did. I created one for me… then for my kids… then for friends… and now maybe for YOU! 🙂

THANK YOU Gary for letting me be part of the international BotJoy revolution!

The Little mouse and the cheese, has been chosen by Tania among the selected illustrations for the week Feast in the 52-week illustration challenge #illo52weeks

I am really honored as the 52-week illustration challenge is a group of over 2000 people and there are lots of amazing illustrators there.

Being part of the group is a great experience but finding your illustration in the shortlist for the week is… WOW….

Thanks a lot!!

Rhyming RhyPiBoMo Picture Month Book MariaJCuesta. Children’s Books. Art. Illustration.

RhyPiBoMo

Rhyming Picture Book Month

In April I will take part in RhyPiBoMo. It is a great challenge for me. I love writing rhyming books for kids, but so far I have only done it in Spanish.

Not being an English native speaker, this is going to be a double challenge, but I cannot wait.

I am absolutely sure I will get a lot from the experience.

Looking forward for April!!

52-week Illustration Challenge

It has been years without drawing and painting. And I have missed it a lot.

But I knew I needed a push to buid a drawing routine again. So I joined the 52-week Illustration Challenge.

As I joined in February I still need to do a lot of catch up, but I am happy because I have caught my drawing bug again.

Please comment below on what you think about the illustrations!

Picture Book Marathon 2014

To boost my creativity, I committed to the Picture Book Marathon 2014

It was quite easy the first week, not bad the second one, and a bit hard for the rest of the month.

But here we are!! 26 stories written (draft mode).

So pirates, witches, violins, orquestras, Santa, tailors, inventors, horses, pianos, hats and a very long list of characters are already waiting to be finalized and be illustrated and printed during 2014.

Thank you PBM 2014!!!
